Set amidst the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, Ghalib ki Haveli introduces you the life of the famous poet Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan, also known as Ghalib. Ghalib ki Haveli in Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk is a Mughal-era structure that is nearly 300 years old. The haveli was gifted to Ghalib by a local hakim, an ardent admirer of the poet. It is here that Ghalib spent the last 10 years of his life, before he passed away in February 1869. The haveli has changed several hands since—serving as everything from a home to a wedding hall—before finally being granted heritage status in 1997. While popular monuments like Red Fort and Jama Masjid attract major attention in the area, the Ghaleb Haveli is a getaway to Delhi’s rich history. The Haveli is said to be more than 300 years old and now houses a museum showcasing the life of Mirza Ghalib.
